F&M Ointment has been designed to help guinea pigs with skin problems on their feet and mouth. It is blended with natural therapeutic plant oils including Calendula, Sea Buckthorn, Tamanu and St John's Wort which are known for their soothing, healing properties.
Feet problems: where there is redness, irritation, tenderness or crustiness, the F&M Ointment can be applied 2 or 3 times a day.
Mouth or Nose Sores / Scabs can sometimes be caused when guineas eat acidic food (such as apples or tomatoes), so it is worth removing these fruits from their diet for a while. The ointment can be applied 2 or 3 times a day to help soften the scabs.
F&M Ointment can also be used where there is crusty skin on the ears or nipples to help soften the scabs.
Please note: you DO NOT need to remove the scabs before applying the F&M Ointment. This is recommended on some web sites, but is painful for the guinea pig and not nice for the human. The F&M Ointment will soften the scabs and they will come off in their own time.
Safety Precautions
- Contains TAMANU oil - DO NOT USE if you have a NUT ALLERGY
- Contains St John's Wort oil which is PHOTOTOXIC - follow the instructions carefully and ensure your guinea avoids direct sunlight for 12 hours after application.
