If your guinea pig has ever had external parasites, you will know how difficult they can be to shift. Lice 'n' Easy Shampoo can help guineas to feel more comfortable as lice may cause irritation if they aren't washed away.

2 rounds of 2 shampoos a week apart used as per the instructions are what is required. Please don't skip the second round of shampoos just because you think all the parasites have disappeared after the first round...any eggs left behind will have hatched after a week, and the cycle will continue if the instructions aren't followed carefully!

The shampoo also has the added benefit of making guinea pigs with white hair look very bright!

If you find a guinea with external parasites and it lives in the same cage as others, they will all need bathing at the same time. Always make sure that the guineas you have bathed are warm and dry before putting them back into a clean cage.  Don't let them come in contact with the guineas waiting to be bathed. A couple of lice is all it needs to keep the problem going.

• Leave 48 hours after worming or treating your guinea pig with Ivermectin before bathing
